Multilingual DTP – Desktop Typesetting Publishing
Multilingual DTP stands for Multilingual Desktop Typesetting Publishing and is the process of adapting an existing layout, graphic design document or publication in another language.
There are different services within the Multilingual DTP field.
The softwere I use are Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Affinity Designer, Affinity Publisher, Scribus, LibreOffice Draw, LibreOffice Writer, Microsoft Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.
The services I provede are:
- Text extrapolation
Transform non-editable files such as PDFs and images into text or graphic editable files for translation purposes (OCR). - Text insertion
Insertion of the translated text into the original layout. - Typesetting
Adapting digital files for multiple languages taking into account other languages best practices, translation expansion and translation contraction. Adjusting materials for printing or publication in required formats. - Graphic localisation
Adapting features such as layout, images, choices and colors to the target language and culture. - Layout creation
Creating, designing and producing marketing or technical material, leaflets, brochures and documents. - File conversion
Converting PDF files back to editable files in any desired format. Indesign and Illustrator files conversion.
